In a make-believe scene immediately out of CSI, former Mayor Oscar Goodman, the onetime self-proclaimed “mouthpiece for the mob,” was shot and killed because the Mob Museum in Las Vegas opened its doors.
The Nationwide Museum of Arranged Crime and Regulation Enforcement, or The Mob Museum as it’s called, opened closing 12 months with a bang.
While Goodman is not any longer mayor of the city, the place he served for 2 terms, the museum in downtown’s Glitter Gulch, so named for its neon casinos, is still close to and expensive to him.
So, on a contemporary Saturday on the Mob Museum within the third-floor courthouse the place he as soon as represented mobster Tony “The Ant” Spilotro, Goodman held courtroom for the general public. Meanwhile, downstairs on the comparable time, former Las Vegas cop, Debra Gauthier, and I, a former police reporter for the Las Vegas Sun, signed our recent books.
